The Myola Feedlot is a modern feedlot with a capacity of 20,000 Standard Cattle Units (SCU), located in Croppa Creek, Northwest NSW. Job Description

As a Pen Rider, you will play a vital role in the daily movement, treatment, and care of cattle, including administering and maintaining animal health treatments and relevant records.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and handle animals humanely, using appropriate cattle handling techniques.
  • Adhere to animal welfare, quality, and safety standards, as well as operating procedures and work instructions.
  • Accurately count and record individual animal identification and lot numbers as required, along with all daily movements.
  • Ensure all daily tasks are completed efficiently.
  • Ride pens consistently and thoroughly each day.
  • Apply required treatments to cattle and maintain accurate records.

Desired Skills and Experience

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Proficient horsemanship skills, including proper care and wellbeing.
  • Ability to supply at least two suitable horses with your own tack.
  • Excellent livestock handling abilities.
  • Competence in identifying and diagnosing animal health symptoms and applying appropriate treatments.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Initiative and a willingness to learn.
